Welcome to 3ESL

A team of engineers, not a team of resellers

We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership and an exciting journey with you.

We are a team of engineers with considerable hands-on experience in renewable energy strategy and policy advice, solar PV and energy efficiency project conceptualisation, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance.

Our mission at 3ESL is to promote modern and clean energy technologies in West Africa and beyond. We do this by minimising — or eliminating altogether — the concerns of solar PV and energy efficiency service providers, project developers and financiers, as well as those of the customers those groups serve. Through our strategic business partnerships we deliver cutting-edge solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Our passion for innovation and our dedication to upholding quality standards assure peace of mind and optimum return on investment for our clients.

Licensed & registered

Installation & maintenance licence
EC/IM/10-20-206
Energy Commission of Ghana — Licensed to install and maintain renewable energy systems.
Renewable energy importation licence
EC/IL/04-24-223
Energy Commission of Ghana — Licensed to import renewable energy equipment directly.
Public Procurement Authority
Supplier no. 509462
Republic of Ghana — Registered to supply to public institutions.

The installation licence matters more than it sounds: an unlicensed installer cannot get a net-meter application through, whatever they tell you.

Memberships

  • Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA) — Active corporate member.
  • Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) — Member of the renewable energy working group.
  • Association of Energy Professionals, Ghana — All directors are members.

How we think about it

Three things you can check, rather than three adjectives

We review other people's work

A large share of what we do is independent: design reviews, testing and commissioning, technical due diligence for lenders, Owner's Engineer roles. It is difficult to cut a corner on your own installs when half your work is finding other people's.

The engineering is instrumented

Load profiling with Class A certified power analysers. Thermal drone inspection. Design verification run as an actual calculation — string voltage at the coldest morning, conductor sizing and volt drop, protection coordination, DC/AC ratio, roof fit — not as a rule of thumb.

The paperwork exists

Signed electrical test records, a commissioning report, a bill of materials naming makes and models, and a maintenance schedule. Five years later, when a warranty claim needs evidence, it is there.

Our process

Measure, verify, install, maintain

In that order, always. The step people want to skip is the first one, and it is the one everything else depends on.

  1. 01

    Site assessment

We visit, measure and record: roof area and orientation, shading, the existing distribution board, and what your loads really are. Everything downstream is built on this, so it is done properly or not at all.

  2. 02

    Load analysis and system sizing

Your consumption becomes a design: array size, inverter rating, storage capacity and the string configuration behind them. You see the assumptions, not just the answer.

  3. 03

    Design verification and quote

The design is checked against the standards before anybody is asked to pay for it — string voltages at the coldest morning, conductor sizing and volt drop, protection coordination, DC/AC ratio, roof fit. Then a quote built from a real bill of materials.

  4. 04

    Install, commission, maintain

Installation to the drawings, commissioning with instrument-recorded test results, and a maintenance schedule that keeps the output where the design said it would be.

Partners

Who we work with

We are not tied to a single manufacturer. Component selection is part of the design work, decided after the site visit rather than before it.

Sunsynk

Bidirectional hybrid inverters and LiFePO4 storage — the backbone of most of our residential and commercial systems.

Dyness

LiFePO4 battery storage for residential and commercial systems.

Jinko Solar

Tier-1 photovoltaic modules from one of the world's largest manufacturers.

Circutor

European energy efficiency, power quality and energy management equipment.

Training

We train the installers, not just our own crew

Manufacturers ask us to run their installer training programmes in Ghana. It is the clearest evidence we can offer that we know these products properly — and it raises the standard of every system in the market, including the ones we did not install.
